Response To "Sitting Isn't the Issue- Static Is"
The article by Kim Tameling discusses the importance of having a work space that is not just sitting at a desk all day. He discusses three important ways that you can switch it up. He also discusses briefly how each of these ways of working can increase productivity and health. It is very important that you do not just work sitting. Switching it up is important to put into your daily routine.
In the article he says "a healthy day finds a balance between sitting, standing, and walking". These three ways of working seem simple but it is uncommon to do so through out the day due to the feeling of being glued to a desk. Steel Case provides a desk and work areas that conforms to these three ways of working making it convenient. Having a desk that can go from a sitting position to standing makes it simple and easy for some one to be able to switch up there working position during the day.
Some of the health benefits to these three ways of working are quite simple. For sitting the benefits are: you are giving your legs a rest and sitting is a good posture for working at a computer.
